Forward have dedicated resource (NEBOSH qualified) to ensure compliance in all safety and health matters.

Each contract begins with a site assessment and review with the customer of the work required. This produces the specific risk assessment for that job. From that basis the safe system of work (or method statement) is constructed. Depending upon the complexity of the job, the employees undertaking the work will be invited to consider all aspects of the work and assist with the writing of the SSoW. Once Forward are content with it, it is sent to the customer for approval. The final stage is the issuing of the “work authorisation” or “permit to work”, which all employees sign prior to commencement of the contract.

The company’s health and safety plan includes a regular review of the safety management system , to include new legislation and also the identification of any training opportunities. Recently, employees have become qualified in PASMA, confined spaces, abrasive wheels, first aid, IOSH Working safely, crane and slings.

The company offers regular on-site tool box talks to assist employees in health and safety awareness and to prompt discussions on how various aspects of the working environment may be made safer.
