Direct Line Feed
Direct line feed (DLF) is the key to a steady flow of parts for use in stock availability, ensuring that parts never run out. We agree on initial stock levels with customers, with replenishment frequency being determined based on past use.
With computer software specifically designed for inventory management, we can offer Direct Line Feed, bar-coding and EDI max/min stock levels, along with any performance indicators you need, allowing you to focus on manufacturing.
We base our stock levels on the number of bins a customer has on the shop floor along with the output of their factory line, but we’ll also advise if we feel that we can evolve and improve current systems and procedures. When the customers’ bin is empty, we simply remove and replenish the stock; this can either be done on-site or returned to our warehouse. This procedure will ensure that you never run out of parts.
Some of the benefits of using our Direct Line Feed are:
- Reduced inventory and paperwork
- Flexibility of supply
- Reduction in continuous purchasing and admin
- Reduction in customer warehousing
- Batch traceability to the production line
